The Law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 16, 2012.
The legislative act suggests amend articles 1269, 1288, 1297, 1300 of the Civil Code, and article 66 of the Law “On Notary”.
The Law also suggests supplement article 67 of the Law “On Notary” with new chapters.
The President of Ukraine claims it is inappropriate to impose powers regarding legacy registration on self-government authorities.
The Head of State stressed that proper legacy registration is a complicated legal procedure requiring high professional qualification in the legal sphere. Thus, this procedure is performed by a notary.
The Law also suggests amend chapter one of article 13 of the Law “On Land Valuation”.
The Law stipulates exclude certain provisions regarding peculiarities of carrying out property valuation for taxation purposes.
